Pearlscale at the Pet Place

Pet Place just recieved some butterfly fish and angelfish. They had a Pearlscale Butterfly in case you are looking for one...They wont sell them until they go through quarantine.

is that the place down on S. Penn? If so, be very observant of any fish you get. I've had beaucoup bad luck from them, on top of general rudeness. that and everytime I've been there i wind up running home and making sure my fish are as happy as they can be so they don't wind up looking so....questionable.


fwiw, I'm not trying to be overly negative bout them, I have had some good customer service once, and have seen a few freshwater fish there that I liked.

I have never had a problem there. Most of my fish have come from there and have lived long happy lives. The tanks do need some work, but they are starting to get their large system back in operation.

Steven, tell Bob and Lynn i said HI next time you go there. I used them almost exclusivly for almost 20 years. Gumby and Bluegirl the parrots in the back call out my name every time i walk through the door. Gumby always rode around on my shoulder and looked at the fish with me lol, and we always steal peanuts from the bin together lol. Give Gumby a peanut from the bin for me, and tell her pow pow pow. She loves to shoot guns lol. Her original owner was a cop. She is the blue front amazon.

You are right about watching the livestock from there though Adam. Bob is the brains there, or was. He had liver failure a few years back that almost killed him, and it messed up his head a little. He was in bed over a year. Lynn does her best, but Bob has forgotten more over his illness then most of us will ever know about reefs. Lynn is the reptile guru. She is a virtual library on any of that stuff. Super Super nice people though.

Yeah the parrots are always talking to me. Lynn is trying to get the saltwater system back up and running. They turned on that monster skimmer last week to test the system for leaks. I have used them for 4 years with no fish problems yet. I guess it all depends on who is woking at the time. If they have a bunch of reptile people in it may be a bit before they get to the saltwater area.

LOL, i dealt with them so long and so much, i just bagged my own stuff if they were busy. Glad to hear they are still kicking, they were on the edge of losing everything a few years ago over Bob's illness.

Bob still able to be at the store and function?

I have only seen him there once since they moved. lynn has a couple of young kids helping her out. one of them is fixing so start a reef system. I gave her the club info so maybe she can join up and help out...
