Pencil Urchin Eating Gorgonian

My pencil urchin that was a hitchhiker on my KP Aquatics live rock has been a model citizen for 7+ years.

Tonight, I caught him eating my purple ribbon gorgonian that I’ve had in the same tank for 5-6 years. Anyone have a similar experience?

My pencil urchins have been banished to my sump. My big one (also a hitchhiker on my KP rock) Killed my maze brain by constantly hiding under it, going in and out between day and night. Killed the flesh at the entrance, algae grew in the dead spot, rinse and repeat. There was no moving the brain unfortunately. I’m pretty sure he irritated some zoas but can’t be confirmed. My experience is more destructive by constant irritation rather than eating coral
