I have a pencil urchin in my sump, is it safe to put him in my reef tank?

Only if you don't like your coralin.
I had 4 spine urchins and they just totally consume my coralin. If anyone wants one stop by.

they eat coraline and algae away like nothing

They will also eat zoos, shrooms and anything else that doesn't move out of the way

And if they can't eat it they poop on it. Then they knock it over to clean off the poop for you. LOL

I've kept a pencil urchin an a 55, though I didn't have many corals at the time. It's impact on coraline algae was distinct but minimal; I wouldn't add more than one.
