There are many reefers that would like to know of saltwater stores in certain areas of PA. We need to know if there are any stores that carry saltwater products and livestock. If you know of a store in your area, please give us the name, address, and phone number. We would also like as much information as you can give us for each store. We will be doing a map that will show you the stores in each county. The map will divide the state to 8 sections (red, blue, green, and brown). Each section will then be divided into North and South. We will be traveling to some of the stores. We also are hoping to be able to give GPS locations for those who use GPS. If you can provide any pictures, they would also be very helpful. This should be a very educational link. Your help to make this come alive is greatly appreciated.
Here is an example of what I can do for my area:
Lycoming County (green north area on map)

1: Animal Specialties.
Basin Street Shopping Center
201 Basin St # 11,
Williamsport, PA 17701
(570) 322-9755 • Fax: (570) 322-9755
Big 150 gallon show aquarium with tons of xenias, star polyps, few LPS corals, Fish systems have fish name and the arrival date. Will have pictures soon. They also have fresh water section, small animals and birds. There is a small grooming section too.
No website

This was an example and I will have more information about the store once the project is done.

Thank you for your help and hope we all can gain from this project.

REEFNEST PA LFS Project

Suggestions are always welcome. I will be checking this thread and will add the feedbacks to my big map as soon as I get it. There will be alot of traveling soon and we hope everybody can contribute with as much help as they can.

Reefcentral thread link will be in the project page for those who visit the page and want to discuss the project.

Next one will be

Gittlers Aquarium and Aviary is in Johnstown PA. They have basic equipment/drygoods. He has a nice Salt water fish section and a well stocked coral tank most of the time. They are easy to keep bread and butter kind of corals. Cambria County.

Not sure on the contact info, but I have visited there on occasion.

Pet Place is in the Dubois Mall. They don't carry corals but have a few SW fish. Dry goods are on the light side. But a good stop if you need something as they are the only ones around Dubois with anything. I think that is in Jefferson County.

This ROCKS!!!!

I've been searching for quite some time to find a site/source of local LFS. Searching Google has been marginally successful. This will come in handy the next time I'm in CA for hunting down those diamonds in the rough LFS's.

Thanks for the link!!!

Pet Zone in Pittston Pennsylvania. 2 125 gallon reef tanks, 1 75 gallon reef tank. Multiple tanks with saltwater fish. Also, Koi, freshwater, reptiles, birds, and other assorted stuff.

Hanover Twp. PA - Division Street. I cannot recall the name, but, he has a 180 gallon reef with some occasionally nice corals. Multiple saltwater fish tanks.

And of course, the best...(drumroll)...Something Fishy in Northampton near Allentown. If you have never been there, it is worth the trip. Lots and lots of coral and saltwater fish. They only sell saltwater, no fresh water or other annoying pets. They had a display at MACNA in Pittsburgh. Well worth the trip.

The place you are thinking of isn't on Division St. It's on West End Rd. It's called "The Aquarium House" They get Livestock in on Mondays & Fridays. It goes quickly. A lot of nice S.P.S. & Red Sea & East Africa. I've been going there for awhile. Chuck takes good care of his clients. Alot of nice discounts. They have a big sale till the 7th of July. I picked up some nice corals & fish. Spent $200. and got $40. off.

I was in there... im sure the live stock is alll good but it looks like it has been built from sticks and that gives me an uneasy feeling... Pet Zone always has some good stuff and the store is well taken care of... Sometimes Cage n Tank in Hazleton has a few items worth visiting

I do not believe this comment is appropriate. Chucks Aquarium House may not have the nicest shelving and prettiest cabinets but the live stock is well taken care of and we try to go the extra mile for our clients. If I had my way I would fill a store with the nicest shelving and newest tanks to hold my livestock and dry goods. Not to mention the highest end equipment availble for sale at the cheapest prices possible however do to limited source of silver spoon in my mouth at this time it is not possible. Maybe when I win the lottery I can roll out the red carpet for Mr. Unger. I find it interesting that you are in AQUATIC SALES and taking a stab at my store. Furthermore, who do you work for and what is you motive. To drive traffic away from my store? You should be ashamed of yourself and I know who you are. With that being said this is a great hobby and I greatly enjoy taking trips to other shops, especially brick and mortor stores of the smaller kind to see other fish and corals and new ways of thinking. I think all the shops listed above are absolutely wonderful places to go and I am sure they all do there best to serve there clientel, fellow hobbiest and even friends. So I hope to see you at the next swap. Sure Ill be there feeling EASY BROTHER

....The comment is my honest opinion. You said it yorself that the cabnets are in need of some work. I did say the livestock looks good. That is a compliment chuck. I am sorry if it was worded wrong. People asked for opinions and thats just what i gave.

... I never said anything about your prices or equipment chuck. If i was to say anything i would say the prices are good and you do give deals to shoppers. The reason i didn't say it was because it was already said in a review above. You do have good selection of dry goods at your store. I have never bought any of them but i did look around. I did not have a silver spoon in my mouth... ever.

I find it interesting that you are in AQUATIC SALES and taking a stab at my store. Furthermore, who do you work for and what is you motive. To drive traffic away from my store? You should be ashamed of yourself and I know who you are.

... First i work for a distributor of test supplies for aquaculture part time... tilapia, trout, bass, etc... I am no way trying to steal customers from aquariums stores to buy a thousand dollars of testing equipment. And i have no reason to be ashamed of myself for giving and honest opinion that you agreed with.

... And that is great chuck alot of store owners don't open their mind to look at new and exciting ways of bettering their store no matter how their store is. All the shops above have their high and lows. Pet zone is pricey.. but has alot to offer. Cage n Tank has had cyntho all over their tanks for about a year and most of the workers are not very educated on saltwater aquariums. Like i said before and agreed with another post about your store... the aquariums house has nice live stock never seen one problem of ick, cyntho, or any other aquarium related diseases. Chuck does give good deals i have got things there and know people that travel to him ever so often for livestock but as i said and chuck said himself the store could use some new stands... I think the tanks are perfect i don't know why you think otherwise. I happen to like your tanks. I have told people to go to your store counless times so if anything i helped get some customers there when they were not aware of your business. I will continue to go there. For the record i think your store has the highest quality livestock at the best prices. It just can use some stands, no big deal. If you would rather me not then just say so and i will stop going there. I was giving information that you agreed with me about. Im sorry you took it in a way that was not my intention.

Now chuck please do not threaten me... ever. If you can't handle someone saying what you know and agree with maybe you shouldn't read reviews. It was late and a quick post i made. I didn't know i was supposed to repeat what someone already stated. I also want to say again i am not "wealthy" or born into money. When i get my pay a good portion of my check goes to help my elderly parents bills. The only way i consider myself rich is having a wonderful family.

No one is threatening you sorry you feel that way. Im a non violent person peace love and happinessand I didnt like your comment about sticks thats all.

Hi Chuck

Hi Chuck

Hello Chuck, Andy here. The Gold stripe Bali Maroon clown is doing very well. He jumped into the green bubble trip within minutes. The clueless percs still will not go near them. When are you getting new stuff in?

A~

Awsome Glad to here the maroon clown took. It is against the rules for me to commercial post in these forums however, I do post on the NCPARS homepage as of this week

Beyond the Reef just opened about 6 weeks ago in Bloomsburg. I have been there every weekend helping out and every weekend there is more and nicer stuff. The coral selection is the best in the area. Starting to get a lot of nice SPS and LPS in the last couple shipments and there is more coming every week. Fish selection is great and everything is healthy. It is only open Friday Saturday and Sunday. New shipments come in every week. Best to get there Friday or Saturday morning. Fish and corals go quick! Prices are INCREDIBLE on supplies and livestock both!

Went to Soemthing Fishy a couple weeks ago. Amazing deal on 200gal boxes of IO, great deal on Joyce's Clownfishes book, and ok selection of SPS. I think their SPS tank needs a bit more light than the T5 hood. I bought a ORA Turq. Stag anyway and it is coloring up nicely.
