I have 3 very nice true ppes in my SPS tank. I also have aptasia anemones as well and they need to go. I was told that pepermint shrimp eat them. So I would like to know before i get some to eat the aptasia anemones will they aslo eat MY PPE"S?
Thanks
Michael

As long as it is a true pepermint shrimp you shouldn't have a problem. I have a pep. in my 10 w/ some ppe's and he hasn't touched them. I also give him a small piece of flake food every day. The key w/ these shrimp, I believe, is make sure you get a real pep. Mine came from Sea Life Inc. Great to deal w/ and they send extra's (on some things).

I concur, true peps will eat apts. I purchased 3 earlier this year and they have done an exceptional job for me. Trouble is, now I can't seem to find my peps. Maybe something consumed them.

Best of luck to you.

Ive had experience with pepp shrimps eatin' my PE's (RPE & PPE). Just make sure they get enough food, or else they will munch on coral.....doesnt matter about being a true pepp or not, if underfed your doomed to have munched skirts....

Make sure it is a True PEP ( but its still 50/50 ) but not the CAMEL SHRIMP sometimes sold as a pep. these are coral eaters.

I got a true pep in my tank.. hasn't touched 2 dime sized amptasia, luckly the aptasia never reproduced ( knock on wood )

Best case for you is use either JOE's juice , kalk paste or some type of aptasia erradication sirynge type and nuke each aptasia polyp ...

My peps have never touch anything but Apts. There are exceptions to every rule. In a confined eco system, I'm starting to believe anything can happen.
