Peppermint Shrimp and polyps

I have heard that Peppermint Shrimp only eat zoos if they are under fed.
Is this the same case with the apaistia, that they only eat them if they are starved? And do they eat inthe order.....brine, apaistia, polyps?

Or am i completly wrong.

Only the Gulf Peppermint's are known for sure to eat aptaisia for sure. I have 6 or 7 of them and have never seen them mess with my zoo's or any other corals. They even live under a couple of my zoo colonies.

Ok that is good new, now the next question.....how can u tell the Gulf Peppermints from others?

And thanks for the info.

Lysmata wurdemanii ( Caribbean - eats aiptasia ) has no yellow or white stripes on the legs.

Lysmata californica ( east Pacific - doesn't eat aiptasia ) don't last long at reef temps as they are cool water animals.

Hmmm, that makes me wonder if it was my peppermints that have been munching on my green star polyps.

If you are lucky they are :p
I wish my pair would, they have never touched it, nor have they touched my yellow polyps.
