peppermint shrimp in a 25g reef

I have just started a 25g reef and brought all my live rock from the old tank I had and the aptaisa is already getting bad. I use aptasia x but was also thinking of trying some pepermint shrimp to take care of it.

Is this a god idea?
How many?
Can I still get a cleaner shrimp if I have these guys?

I've had plenty of luck with peppermints. I set up a 20 gallon and put live rock with a bit of aiptasia. Put 3 peps in there and cleared it out within days. They're also great scavengers and will help with maintenance in the tank. Plus I love them cause every time I put my hands in the tank they cling and start cleaning me up.

Same exact experience in my 55 gallon. 3 peppermint shrimp cleared my aptasia and are great to watch.

I just bought another pair of peppermint shrimp.

I also got rid of my 6-line wrasse.. every time I have bought shrimp I never saw them ever again after adding them to the tank. Assuming the wrasse ate them, 3 days in with these new shrimp and MIA like the rest, found a molt today though.

Be careful, some LFS that are not as educated will sell camel shrimp as peppermint shrimp, and they will make quick work of your coral. :uzi:

I had a few aiptasia pop up in my 30gal. Got two peps from KP Aquatics (carribean species) and all aiptasia were gone in short order.
Now that their job is done I had to remove them to the sump, they are a major PITA when trying to spot feed corals.

Worked for me in a much smaller tank. Gave the little guy away after he took care of business.
