Peppermint shrimp with eggs

I bought a peppermint shrimp today at a lfs, turns out I picked out the pregnant one of the 2.

I looked at it once I got in the car, and I see eggs!

Will they hatch?

This is a 3g system with a hob filter. The meanest thing in this tank is probably the hermit crabs. Will some of them make it?

Man...!! I should have gotten both of them. I had 12 dollars store credit, and I ended up picking 3 hermit crabs =\ lol

My peppermint shrimp has eggs also - should I pluck it out? I don't think I need a swarm of peppermint shrimp in my 29 gallon tank! Just one shrimp picks my corals enough as it is...

Should I leave it alone or let nature run its course?

Its almost impossible to raise the eggs. I have blood, cleaner and pepperming shrimp all carrying eggs time and time again and never has one survived.

I don't have any fish - so i'm wondering what would eat the eggs... I have corals only, no fish. And some hermit crabs.

the food source for the fry is gonna be your problem, even if you don't have anything that will eat them they will most likely starve to death.

Ok... well perhaps I should pull out 2 of the shrimp someday. The largest peppermint shrimp made quick work of the aiptasia I had - the other two small ones just loafed around.

I read up on breeding peppermint shrimp at one point. You'd basically need to set up a tank to raise the babies, with a sponge filter and lots of feeding and water changes. Unless you're really dedicated, it's a lot of work.

Well, I saw the pp shrimp today, and the eggs it was holding are gone, and 0 signs of baby shrimp anywhere. I wonder what happened..lol
