peppermint shrimp

I got one a few days ago to take care of some aiptasia, and I haven't seen him since!! Do they hide all the time? He hasn't touched the aiptasia either.....

They are usually active during the night, however they will pop out from time to time during feeding to catch any of the food that flits by.

I got a 12 gallon nano tank a few weeks ago, and in haste, bought FOUR peppermint shrimps for it. I decided that I didn't want them, and that they would probably eat any coral I put in there down the road. To get them out, I had to remove 12 pounds of liverock. I scooped them up, put them in a bucket, and took them back to the LFS. They tossed them into a quarantine tank. They were white as a ghost! Just like ghost shrimp, but otherwise fine. I guess stress will turn a shrimps colors. I'm hoping them get pink again in a few hours:-/

Ihope they meal upon my aiptasia!! I got two more today, for a total of three in my 55 gallon setup....

mine never touched my aiptasia. They were a worthless pair. Get yourself some Joe's Juice. Much easier than hoping your shrimp will find his life long food match!

I usually use vinegar--I was just hoping the shrimp would do the work for me--so far not:(

Its hit or miss with Peps on Aptasia.. just joes juice or kalk paste it. I got 3 and they all don't bother the aptasia since they wait for feeding time.
