As title says...

Good way to buy a tank to make into a sump.

I got a 40 gal glass breeder (3ft x 18") ImageUploadedByTapatalk1340742654.508822.jpg and siliconed in my own dividers from left over plastic pieces I had Tap Plastics cut for me.

i went to the local petco and all they had were 10 gallon and 40 breeders. apparently some one here (woodnaquanut) decided to go there before me and get the only 20 high they had that i wanted to buy for my other brother so he can put some poison dart frogs. Instead i came home with a misbar occelaris for 16+tax :)

Wait just one minute! I did NOT get the last 20H! I left one for you. :)

It wasn't very well made. I wouldn't trust it with water, but it should work with frogs.

Gotcha... the 40B I got a month and a half ago ($79) looks really sturdy. Worst come to worse, a little silicone and it's all good.

Oh i did not see it, guess someone else beat me to that one as well :( oh well sorry wood guess i was wrong. I did like the look of the 40 breeder but i still want to stick with my 20 long. When i was walking out i did notice they had about 8 more in the hallway by the reptile cages.

Lucas,

I was mainly looking at the alignment of the sides to front/back. The 20H I rejected had the side glass not in full contact with the front and back. Most tanks had the sides in (closer together) and the front/back stuck out a little bit. I don't know if one is weaker than the other but I'd rather have overlapping than half lapping!

In a well made tank they would match up exactly. Considering they sell a glass box for only $10, I'm not expecting much and that's what I got! :)

Picked up a 55g last night and redid my 55g that the center brace broke on.

You cannot beat it for the money. The 55g I had was 13 yrs old.

Guess I can use it for a sump now or something else that will not have as much water pressure.

BTW, go online an check the Ad for the sale. I believe it goes on for quite some time.

I have it actually divided with two back chambers for my skimmer and return pump. Those are not full of water. Gives me about 7-10 gallons to work with.

Only front part is for my frag tank.
