Perc going a bit crazy?

So let me preface this just a bit... I have a 24g cube that has been up and running since about the first week of December. Has about 23lbs of LR in there, BB tank. I had a gold stripe maroon and two bangaii cardinals in there at the beginning of January, but due to some mishap or another (I went away for a few days and left someone else in charge) they all died. It sparked a new cycle in my tank that has finally finished.

Since my gf was all over me to get a new fish, this weekend I did a 5g water change, tested my levels (all 0) and went out and started small with a small tank raised percula.

Here's my question (sorry for the long intro to this). He seems very happy and swimming around a lot during the "day" (tank lights on) and has been eating happily the frozen mysis I give him. However, when I wake up in the morning to go to work, I always go say hi. I notice that he is always swimming in some odd area of the tank, usually near the bottom and sort of under rocks and completely on his side. However when I get home and the lights are on, he is fine, back in his little area of the world and swimming like a normal fish. He has only been in the tank about 4 days now, but is this normal? I don't remember my gold stripe ever doing this, he would hang out near the return at night.

I think the behavior he is exhibiting is normal clownfish behavior.They sometimes will do odd swimming motions and patterns(usually when the lights go out).Thats part of how they got there names clownfish.Usually every clownfish I have had in the past has done some odd type of swimming motion when the lights went out and when I came down in the morning to say good morning they would be caught swimming sideways or upside down.I think it is normal.My clowns I have now( I have a Perc. and a Ocellaris) both swim near the top or sideways under my powerhead when the lights go out.

mine used to swim vertically against the silicone in the corner at night... looked so weird for him to swim up and down along the side like that facing the sand... now he jams himself between some zoos and a rock and swims tilted a little...

all normal as far as i know..

mine exhibited the same strange swimming behavior at night also. normal imo.

I have 2 Ocellaris, that are about 18 months old. They lay on the top of the water on their sides. They stay right together. Cuties thing ya ever saw. . .but the first time I saw them I was sure they were dead.

I have a pair of Clarks that lay on their sides on the bottom of the tank. I about had a heart attack. My percs and Occelaris like to sleep at the top right corner
