Perc/ Haddoni anemone combo?

Has anyone had this combo and have it be successful? I know this an unnatural pair but I has to happen sometimes. If you do have the combo how long did it take to be hosted by the perc(s) and was there any harm to the perc(s)? I was just wondering for the future that if it would be worth it. Thanks!

I used it to get the black back in my SI percs. They were hosted by an LTA, I removed it, and added an S. Haddoni -- it wasn't even out of my hands before they were in it.

Thats interesting, thats the 2nd time i've heard of the instant hosting with this combo. These aren't a natural combo right? Just it's interesting how these percs readily are hosted by one of the deadliest anemones and seem fine. Thanks for the post though.

I had a pair of picassos take to a haddoni, but it seemed like they were stung alot by attemtping to host it. Finally they hosted after 3 days. Haddoni carpet's are pretty potent creatures. They are not a natural combo, correct.

Haha Todd! As soon as I read the title of this thread I knew you would be the first or atleast close to the first to post on it! Well done sir.

I have a green stripe s. haddoni, i have two black photon clownfish that show no interest YET..im not giving up hope as they are very young but regardless my hadonni is just an awesme creature to keep even if they never host.

I have seen many haddonis hosting perculas in aquariums even to the point where at one point I had a hard time believing that this combination wasn't occuring out in the wild somewhere. Like Toddrtrex pointed out, I have also seen these clowns dive right into these anemones without hesitation. When I worked in an aquarium shop about five years ago we would commonly pair percs with haddonis.

Oh ok, that sounds promising. I'm going to have my LFS order me a small carpet for friday. Also, I know my tank is small now but within about a month i'll be upgrading to a mostly carpet nem dedicated 55 gallon. Thanks for the info everyone : )

If possible, I would wait until the 55 is up and fully cycled. A small tank is no place for an S. Haddoni with other fish in there -- if your sig is correct for the fish you have, I have a feeling it will be less soon.

well the sig isn't correct ( less fish ) but i'll wait anyways thx.

Good choice -- they can be difficult to move too -- when they are attached to the bottom of the tank, can be "fun" to get them to release.

BTW -- what store? (( just curious ))

It's called Hidden reef up here in beach park, IL. You can't really google it, not sure why lol but they seem to take care of their animals more than petco and some LFS around me.

I strongly agree with Todd here, just wait till you get your 55 up and going. Like he said, haddonis are not the easiest to move and every time I have done it it has been stressful on the anemone and me, so I would say just save yourself the trouble.
