Percula Clownfish, will they kill each other?

Let me give you a brief synopsis...

I introduced 2 true percs last Wednesday night to my 24g AquaPod. They seemed like they were paired up before I went to bed. The next morning one was dead. It did not have any damage to it at all, just gone. So today I introduce another true perc and they immediately start to fight. I mean hanging on fins, locked up mouths and chasing each other all over the place. My question is can they and will they kill each other? Or are they just trying to figure out who will be the male and who will be the female? Thanks,

A lot of times locking up with mouths possibly means you have two females. Usually they will fight and one will become submissive and go on its side and basically go into a seizure like movement briefly.

can you sperate them with a piece of eggcrate? If they can see each other for a while then perhaps they will calm down. What is the size difference between the 2?

If they are close to the same size, take the smallest one, back to the lfs and trade it for one that is a good bit smaller than the other one. Then they will probably pair up and get along. Always make sure there is a size difference in these fish it does matter.

I have a pair. I bought them one at a time. The local fish store told me to either buy both at the same time and get them small, or buy one and then another that was noticably smaller than the other.

I also have the misbar percula clowns. These I bought as a pair. $70.00 for the pair at about 1 to maybe 1 1/2 inches each.
