Perculas compatible w/ BTA?

N00b question!

The guy at my local fish store mentioned that most Perculas are not that compatible with BTAs.

Is this true?

I have a pair that have been pairing for a few months and doing well together. They are Onyx Perculas from a local breeder. The larger one has established dominance and they are almost always near each other.

I have been wanting an anemone for some time for them to host with. They have some frogspawn they could potentially host in, though don't think they've even touched it yet.

Yes it´s true. I had that problem for about 6 months. The clown didn´t even seem to notice my GBTA. But recently he noticed the anemone and started hosting.

To summaries, they can host BTA but ther´s no guarantee they will.
Hope this helps.

Percula dont occur naturally with BTA thats why they dont always host it. soudns corny but try putting a picture of clowns hosting an anemone on the glass by them some have said that this helps to direct their attentions haha. same thing has happened to me where clowns wont host for long periods of time then they suddenlly do. Im assuming you have some rods ony and they ahve been know to host bta in the past.

Ya, I got some of Rod's clowns. They are pairing well, though I am researching the possibility of purchasing an anemone. I have a skimmer and a 150w MH, getting ATO to help keep my water level.

I think I should be ok water quality wise with my setup to support an anemone now, and just wanted to clarify this one issue I had in my mind, thanks for the feedback!!!!

Sounds good just make sure you go with a small enough specimen becuase at 24 gal youre going to run out of real estate reallty fast with a thriving anemone.
