I just got a green carpet anemone first for my 20 gallon but will be switched to a new 150 gallon tank in a month. i have two 1" Black Onyx Clowns and an Orbit PC fixture that provides 6.5 watts per gallon. just want to know some problems people have encountered with this type of anenome so i can look out for them? thanks

There is a good chance that you percs won't like your haddoni (saddle) carpet. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
Haddoni carpets are very good at catching and eating the non-clownfish in some tanks. That includes medium sized tangs, dwarf angels, blennies and gobies.

I was running 230 watt PC's and my anemone needed more light. Mouth was always open never look really good. I picked up my halide setup a week ago and within 30 sec of the halides on the anemone shut his mouth and expanded huge. Just a heads up. I have a 55.

I had a healthy haddoni before I tore down my tank and sold it. It chose to move away from my MH and go under my old PCs. From what others have said and my experience, they don't need intense lighting.

Just giving you my experience as to why for a week and a half my carpet's mouth stayed wide open and how I fixed it. My levels were fine and I couldent figure out what the heck was going on. The metal halide's worked wonders in my tank for the carpet.

Yah not saying you are wrong. After all I've only experienced keeping one haddoni.

Does anyone know an easier way to trasnport them without them sticking to you? im moving it into a new tank in a month or so and i need a good idea for moving it.

Thanks

My true percs (I have had them since '97) happily host in a green haddoni that i have had since 2000. It took them a couple of weeks to host originally. The only problem I have had with the carpet is its ability to take down fish on occasion. Since I have moved them to my 600 reef the fish catching has been less frequent but always a potential problem.
Good luck.
