Personifier Angel issue

I've had my true personifier angel for about 1.5 years now and up until yesterday he has been in perfect health and has been an excellent eater. When the lights came on in the tank last night I noticed the personifier's lips were extremely swollen and pale white and when I fed the tank he showed no interest in food. I'm guessing its a bacterial infection and am thinking about dosing my tank with Maracyn 2 any thoughts as to the cause of the swollen lips or if dosing Maracyn 2 is a good first step would be greatly appreciated.

Hey dw. Try giving la/dd an email and see what they suggest. See if you can give them a pic as well.

Hope your fish recovers.

Once I had a blueface that had a swollen lip. LA/DD suggested I used Bio Bandage. Within a few days it went away.
Before that my BF didnt feed for about 10 days.

Thanks Geaux Man! I will shoot DFS an e-mail with some pictures and see what they say and I will give Bio Bandage a try and see if it helps.

Quick update, unfortunately this situation went from bad to worse quite quickly and I had euthanize the fish as the swelling and discoloration quickly turned into a flesh eating infection that ate away the majority of the fish's mouth and jaw area. Do I have to worry about contracting the infection from the fish? I wore rubber gloves when handling the fish, threw away the net and disinfected any service areas the fish touched, but the infection was very severe and flesh eating in nature, so I am a bit concerned about the potential for contraction....
