So I got an Rbta on fridays..it hasn't found its happy spot yet.. this morning I woke up and I couldn't find her anywhere.. after a good bit of searching.. she is at the bottom of the tank.. deep within the rock work.. sitting on the sandbed.. looking mighty upset...

Everything I read has said let them be.. they will find a spot..
I just want to be sure that is a safe option still... I don't know how good they are at moving on sand.. or dealing with next to no light

Any and all advice is very much appreciated

They will inflate and float through the water to find their spot. Let the em go, it can take several days to weeks for the nem to find its spot.

Ok.. that's what I kinda figured... just got worried because of where she currently is

It looks to be otherwise healthy, so I agree that just letting it find it's spot is the best option. Trying to move it you risk injuring the foot, and even if you do, it's going to go to where it wants to be - not necessarily where you want it to be.

If it chooses a spot on the backside of the rockwork, just turn the tank around!!!:fun4::rollface:

It's in that same spot.. except up on a rock.. all open and pretty looking so the other rocks and shrimp or two that hide back there as well can enjoy it lol

Lovely advice... but unfortunately.. the back of my tank is black...

Update..

She is still back in that spot.. all puffed up like a Ballon to attempt to float away.. it's not going to work..it's a tight spot back there. With not much flow..

Should I wait it out. Since a beam of light is shinning down in it and maybe it will try to climb out..

Or should I mount a rescue party and go in after her?

You have 2 things possible, water conditions and lighting. I had a few behind rocks like that and they all find there way to light when needed, provided they are not avoiding light because of water conditions. 2 days they have climbed 8" up the back glass. Some of mine like the shade but stick themselves out during the heavy light hours.

I say wait a bit longer messing with them prolongs their final place.

Leave it be. Mine sulked for weeks within the rockwork, it eventually came out and setup shop right on top of my hollywood stunner chalice frag. Needless to say the chalice is now dead, but the nem is happy and hasn't moved in months.

Ok... I've took everyone's advice with this Rbta...she still is hiding under the rocks... weeks later..
I'm afraid it will die back there... I'm sure it's getting a few beams of sunlight in the morning.. but that's about it...

My LTA is doing perfect... hanging out in the front of the rockwork.. happily hosting one of my clowns..

Do I go search and rescue yet?

It will twist it's self and put about half of its tenticals into the light..but then balls back up

Peramiters are all good
0 0 Ammonia and Nitrite
5 Nitrate
Ph 8.2
Cal 480
Alk 11
Salinity 1.025

LTA is happy.. it was halfway hidden behind a rock..just it's foot (wedged in between 2 rocks..sand underneath. It has since then moved the one rock out. And pushed it about 7 inches lengthwise across the front of my tank to its new spot...and buried it's foot in the sand
