pest mantis solutions?

I have a 75 gallon mixed reef that has been running for 3 1/2 years. When I got my live rock there was a mantis shrimp hitch hiker. I have only seen it once but I hear it nearly everyday. It has killed several other shrimp, crabs and snails and possible some smaller fish. My question is what can get rid of this thing? A friend suggested interceptor. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the cut in half 2 liter bottle baited trap. If not check out the mantis specific thread. They helped me when I had one.

Yeah been there done that. This one is very small I waited and waited for many nights but it never went in the bottle. When I left it there overnight the bait was gone but no shrimp. I think it is small enough to swim back out.

Start a new tank. A 10gal is probably sufficient. They are fascinating. Check out the mantis section here.

I had 3 mantis shrimps in my tank that were such a pain to get out. I tried the bottle trick, but that didn't work. I had to remove most of my LR (37 gallon tank) to catch all of them. If you're itching to reaquascape your LR, this is your opportunity
