I found 5 of these flat worms (?) on my Wall Hammer, not on the hammers, but in the area where the soft flesh meets the hard skeleton:
Sorry for the bad photo, but I couldn't get a clearer one that was close enough to make it worth a photo. They are about 1/4" to 1/2" long, white when in the tank (brown now in my white Solo cup), with a distinct white line / stripe (probably its digestive system) that runs down the length of it. They are elongated ovals, with the "head" end being a bit more rounded, while the "tail" end comes to more of a point. The edges are smooth, although it doesn't appear so in the picture -- capturing them tore them up a little. They can move both forwards and backwards, if that makes a difference.
Any ideas what they are, if they are bad, and the best way to deal with them? I caught the ones today with a plastic spoon -- I hope that's not something I need to repeat too frequently. I haven't noticed any damage to my Wall Hammer from them, but I wouldn't imagine they'd be there unless the hammer had something to offer them.
Thanks!
