lol, DonLino what is it about that place? A friend told me to check the place out and I saw it on my way somewhere so, I went in and checked it out. I saw some good deals and bought a few things there. Later, I realized it was the one that always starts arguments on here and for the life of me, I really don't understand why there seems to be such controversy about it. Then again, to me there is no one store I can give 100% of my business to. They all have pros and cons IMO.

I agree with some as well. I have been to both Pet Mart stores but shop mostly at the St.Pete Location and have had good results to say the least. If you are getting or looking for a tank combo they are having a big sale and the prices are in effect right now. I just came from the store and was told they have more details on the web site www.pet-mart.com you might want to check it out if your looking for a tank. The sale also includes live aquatics.

As far as opening a can of worms with your tread...lol...you have. I do not know why either but it is what it is.

o2zen...It does have its good pirces on dry goods, u can ask anyone in Tampa. It's just the livestock they carry have been known to be umm...not so good I guess

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Of course I'm not sure what your experience with them is exactly but everything I've gotten there has been fine, maybe I'm just lucky. Truthfully, I've seen just as many dead/sick fish in John's tank as theirs and the other stores I've visited.

not flamming or anything, im putting my 2 cents in as well. I refuse to stay out of this when a good store like FAOIS is compared to Petmart. IMO they're really is no comparison. No store will have 0% casualties and never have a sick fish, but its how you treat your fish and how much time and effort as well as education you have about the hobby is where hte line is drawn. I know the owners of both the stores and i clearly stand up for John's store. It's really the only store i shop at because of the condition his fish and corals are in (which is 99% healthy) as well as his prices on livestock. Petmart can (sometimes) be a decent place to get dry goods, but i've seen the way things are run there and the managements ethics and morals conflict with my own towards this hobby and thats enough to keep me away, and of course, i join the 2 billion served that are banned from his store.

I can get into a much further explaination and give a good 20 reasons in why i dont like pet mart and why i do like FAOIS but its quite obvious and mostly everyone already knows. And honestly i rather not get too into it so the owner of Petmart doesnt call me on my cell again and threaten to sue me (which he couldnt even if he wanted to) as well as harrass me.

DonLino, lesson learned, lol. Thanks for your take on things Gimplar. To each their own. For the record, I was not trying to slam FAOIS in any way. I also like John and his store, they just meet different needs for me.
