I used to live not far and started my saltwater hobby by going there in the early 1990's.

Did he go out of business or just decide to retire?

He really was knowledgeable and a nice guy as you said.

Charlie was too young to retire... I hear he went bankrupt...

Yup apparently so. There's a sign on the front door stating just that. I hope all is well with him & his family during this difficult time. Maybe he'll open up another store some time...

Colonial in Bayonne which was run by his mom also closed
another mom and pop store gone
