Great looking tank! Great choice of live stock. Im so tired of seeing sps only tanks, or lps only tanks. I think the key to a great reef tank is diversity, which you have. LPS, softies, SPS, non photosynthetic etc.
Well done!

I have seen those white anemones on some websites/LFS, and they have been labelled as 'japanese anemones'. I dont know too much more about them, sorry!
hi chelskisw!
i'm so glad to get your praises, thanks a lot!

i agree with your opinion that "the key to a great reef tank is diversity".

in order to keeping non photosynthetic, i have to add a lot of planktons and zooplexs. i use kent, elose, DT etc, but which has also includes a lot of organic components.
to remove these organic components, now i set up a algae tank use Miracle Mud.i hope it can help me build a low NO3&PO4 environment.

dear Jadams,
thanks for your praises, please give more advices for me.
btw, it is not easy to collect corals in China, i have to go to LFS once a week.

hey pete!

I'm chinese as well, my dad actually has an civil engineering business and is staying in shanghai training people! maybe i will come see your tank someday! it is beautiful.

I live in tampa, and i only have a 30 gallon now, i used to have 125 gal.

How are prices in Shanghai? The purple and yellow fish is called a royal gramma.

Very nice tank.

Hey Nelson!
So glad to meet Chinese here!
You are welcome to see my tank whenever!

In Shanghai, China, the prices for corals and salt fishes are really cheap compare with what in EURO or USA. But the famous brands of auqa-equipments' prices are higher; and we also have no chances to get a lot of top-brand products. Most of people here are using the equipments which made in china because of the prices.

i'd like to know why you reduced the size of your tank from 125 gal to 30 gal? you know, all the people wanna keep a bigger tank~

Hey pete,

Oh, you're too kind. i actually will be going to see my father soon. I dont know when though. wow, maybe when i go to china i will bring some corals back with me.

I got a smaller tank, because my 125 gal reef tank was fully stocked but i went on a hiking trip up north and the power went out while i was gone. My friend didn't save the tank in time because it happened late at night. Everything died except one fish and one shrimp. I still have the shrimp but sold the fish. I don't have the money to get a big tank again, so i have a 30 gallon, but it is starting to look good again.

You're english is good by the way.

I'm actually majoring in international business :)

Hey Nelson£¬

I will PM you my Shanghai's mobile phone number. Please call me back whenever you arrived in Shanghai.

Power always be the killer for marin tanks. My best friend's tank was failed several days ago since the power went out. And nobody at his home on that day. I'm now considering whether shall i add an UPS+accumulator or not...

thanks cwilson!
