Petsmart starphire tanks

How do I unsubscribe? I should have never posted in this retarded thread. Now it emails me everytime someone posts in it. I ate too much lead paint off Chinese made toys (They can do that because the EPA there has less restrictions so the toys are cheaper) my whole life. Help!

I hate to keep feeding the troll on this one, but need to clear your comment that I guilt tripped you on your cheaper glass being bad for the environment, that didn't come out of my mouth.
I said they had less restrictions making it more cost effective, and my point was we should see low iron glass become cheaper.
Sorry for the eyesore here guys, and again thanks to those that back my ability to comment w/out documents or legal representation!LOL
Done and done.

See. I got that in an email. LOL. Straight to my phone. Argh.

I made a junk email account for that purpose and just "delete all" once a month never read it. You can't get around the emails for subscribed thread when they are posted in.

Anyway, if someone had some solid information that we can now buy aquariums with starphire quality glass at Petsmart, along with the prices, sizes and manufacturers of said tanks, THAT would be realllllllly interesting.

This is going to sound like a pretty unintelligible claim because I have no pictures and don't remember the specific names but-

I was at petsmart a few days ago and whatever their store brand aquarium is, is apparently now made with starphire-type glass. They are marketing it as "optically clear". The prices of course have gone up too, but it's very reasonable as compared to standard starphire tanks. I googled it to no avail. If they've caught onto low-iron glass maybe they will eventually produce some cool rimless tanks, in which case I'd be interested.

Anyone else notice these?

Since the only question that was asked originally was if anyone else noticed these...

No - I have not noticed these.

Here we go. "Optically clear glass." I noticed on one of their 1xx gallon tanks, where the glass was pretty thick (1/2"?) it was pretty close to perfectly clear, much much less green tint than my oceanic 58g has.

Virtually every aquarium in the store had this in its description, although I could almost swear that a few of the smaller tanks actually weren't made with anything but standard iron glass by looking through them.

Wow I just noticed in the picture that I should have "seen reverse of label for details." My bad.

Just means "optically clear"... doesnt need to be low iron or starphire or anything like that. The packaging for seaclones also makes them sounds great.

Petsmart tanks are just rebranded tanks of other brands like perfecto (the specific brand depends on the size).

Yea who knows. All I can say though, is that they had a couple tanks with much thicker glass than my oceanic, and they were very noticeably less green-looking in spite of the glass being thicker. It is what it is, whatever that is. And I could almost guarantee on some of the smaller tanks (30g>) there were tanks with noticeably different amounts of greenness (to be precise lol).
