PFO 250 Watt Dual HQI Metal Halide Ballast

I would be grateful for clarification on the design spec for the PFO 250 Watt Dual HQI Metal Halide Ballast. The Marine Depot web site states that it is an electronic ballast. I've seen the same ballast for sale on a number of other sites which state that it is tar and coil ballast.

I would be garteful if you would clarify this for me.

I'd also like to use this ballast to run two 250W HQI PFO mini pendants. Do I need any additional plus leads etc.

Hi Linden,

Thank you for your inquiry. The PFO 250 watt Dual HQI Metal Halide is a Tar style ballast (core and coil design). I was not able to find any reference on our website to it being an electronic ballast, so if you could PM us the link where it states this so we may correct this we would appreciate it.

You would not need any additional parts to run the PFO mini pendants with the exception of the bulbs (The ballast, the pendants and the bulbs).

If there is anything else we can do for you do not hesitate to ask.

I actually have the same question. On page 38 of your catalog. For the PFO Acrolight. I was looking at there DE setups and it says Metal Halide PFO electronic Ballast for some. The others say Metal Halide Icecap Electronic Ballast.

I see no reference to the PFO HQI word. This is why I have my question.

Thank you for your inquiry. I just checked our catalog and it appears there was a mistake in printing the catalog. The website has the correct information on these lights. You can get the Acrolight with IceCap electronic ballast, or you can get the PFO ballast which will be the PFO HQI ballast noted above. Thank you for noticing this in the catalog and it will be corrected.
