PFO Ballast

There are a few of them for sale around. And they are not terribly expensive.

I am looking to upgrade to 400w and would like to know everyone's opinion.

Is it worth it to purchase a used one or since they are out of business now would it be better to purchase a new Icecap or something.

Also, will they drive DE bulbs or are they only for Moguls?

well..... Ice Cap is our of business as well.....

PFO makes a nice magnetic ballast. each one is labled with HQI, Mogal, HPS
so they will tell you if they can run a DE, SE, or sodium grow bulb. (dont take a persons word for it. get a picture of the sticker with the check mark on it.

You cant get cords for the ballast so you will have to make your own. so its a tossup.

also, there is only 1 bulb that is a 400w DE and thats a Hamilton. so your limiting yourself with a DE 400w
