I don't think the PH matters nearly as much as stable alkalinity. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. The days I am home the PH ranges from 8.05-8.15 - The days I am not home it ranges from 8.10-8.20. Needless to say I don't notice any difference but maybe I shouldnt breathe so hard
you have nothign to worry about. Tanks range from 7.9-8.5..you're in the sweet spot. My tank used to run 7.9-8.1, but now runs at 8.25-8.4 nothing is effected by it. As stated earlier, Alk swings are what you really have to worry about.
It will definitely swing, even with a fuge. CO2 concentration in the air effects your ph also, so days when the Co2 level outside the tank will draw it in through the skimmer and drop the ph. Absolutely normal and not much you can do. I think mine swings from 8.0-8.2 and have a pretty successful SPS dominate tank.
pH....what is that......
I dont own a pH test.....learned a long time ago not to sweat the pH to much. As long as you dont have a fresh air (oxygen) problem in the house you are usually fine.
For giggles have you ever watched pH while throwing a big house party? Want to see the pH drop..holy smokes.
Haha...yup new years & christmas. i have the apex controller & it logged a downward spiral about 30mins after the party got going & then back up about 2 hrs after.
Anyone know how to copy the graphs. It is sweet.....
went from like 8.13 at 9ish to like 7.8 at like 1am...then back up after about 3am slowly
