Buffers are NEVER a good way to maintain pH, unless alkalinity is truly too low.
Do you have a low pH problem, or a low alkalinity problem?
If low pH, more aeration with fresh air, or using limewater are the best options.

The article above will describe an aeration test to diagnose whether the house air is the problem or not, but switching to limewater, or less good, a high pH two part additive for calcium and alkalinity are the best options aside from bringing in more fresh air.
How are you measuring pH?
OK, pH test kits may not be very reliable, and some, like Salifert may read low when old. Still, low pH is common enough.

pH 7.5 sounds like testing error to me. Rarely does tank water get that low. Try the outside aeration test, at least when it is warm enough.

An air conditioner?
Air conditioners do not alter CO2 levels, which is the only way they'd directly impact pH. But if you have an air conditioner, you probably do not open the windows as much, so the CO2 from your breathing will build up more than if the windows were open. Some air conditioners may bring in outside air, but most do not, at least here in the US.
