ph buffer

HI Randy, my alk is good. i believe the ph is low due to aeration and my tank is far from any window in the house. don't know what to do.

The article above will describe an aeration test to diagnose whether the house air is the problem or not, but switching to limewater, or less good, a high pH two part additive for calcium and alkalinity are the best options aside from bringing in more fresh air.

I'll try it, i have been using the 2 part sol. for about 2 weeks now and notice some good results. thanks..

OK, pH test kits may not be very reliable, and some, like Salifert may read low when old. Still, low pH is common enough.

How low was it?

And i also buy new test kits every two months regarless, i
know my wife will kill me if she ever finds out how much money i spent on this hobby, but i love it....

pH 7.5 sounds like testing error to me. Rarely does tank water get that low. Try the outside aeration test, at least when it is warm enough.
The kits may have been old or otherwise flawed even before you bought them.

Randy,
pls one question, is it true that The use of the conditioner in the room of the aquarium may lower pH?
If yes why?
Thanks
LUCA

An air conditioner?

Air conditioners do not alter CO2 levels, which is the only way they'd directly impact pH. But if you have an air conditioner, you probably do not open the windows as much, so the CO2 from your breathing will build up more than if the windows were open. Some air conditioners may bring in outside air, but most do not, at least here in the US.

Randy,
Thanks, now is clear, no problem to use an air conditioner ... It was strange also for me, this is the reasons why i ask your opinion.
Bye
LUCA
