PH Calibration

I have just calibrated the PH probe on my ACJR. I used Millwakee PH calibration fluid 7.01 and 10.01. My question is, The ACJR settled in at 7.68 with the 7.01 fluid and 10.74 with the 10.01 fluid. Is this normal?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, those are fine; that is the raw data coming in to the controller. After calibration go to the run display, and put the probe back into the calibration solutions to confirm a good calibration.

I have not calibrated mine yet since I didn't know about this myself. how does it know which package you are using? it is recommended to use 7 and 10 . aren't some 7 and some 7.01 and the same with 10? will this throw it off or can it tell the difference ? or are the packets actually exactly the same and just marked differently?

If you use 7.01 and 10.01 instead of 7.00 and 10.00 for calibration, then the AquaController will read .01 low after calibration. Not really anything to worry about though.

I calibrated my pH probe last night. Very easy to do.
I ordered the pH packets from MarineDepot (pH 7 and 10). Go to the menu to calibrate the probe place the probe in the pH 7.000 hit select and give the probe 1 minute to calm down and hit select. Rinse the probe in some tap water to get the solution off. Then repeat with pH 10.000 solution.
Let the system and probe run in the tank or sump for a minute or so and then check to see how well it calibrated by placing it in the calibration packet. My probe/AC Jr was exactly dead on after calibration in both the 7.00 and the 10.00 solution packets.

I did the same and mine was also dead on after calibration. not sure I care how it works but now at least I know it does.
thanks
