pH Differences in Tank compared to Sump

Just like most people (as far as I can tell), I have my pH probe mounted in my sump.

Can the pH of your water change from the time it exits your display to the time it enters your sump?

Can I remove my probe temporarily from the sump water to test this or will the air negatively affect the probe?

Would it be beneficial to mount the probe in my overflow or the display water?

Thanks Randy,

That is helpful. I am interested to see if there is a substantial difference and I will post to let you know what I find out.

Im a little worried because the tank drain, the skimmer drain, the reactor effluent, and the fresh water top off, ALL dump into the sump BEFORE it hits the probe. :rolleye1: :smokin:

Wish me luck! :)

Good luck. :)

I'd be surprised if there is a difference of more than 0.1 pH unit between the sump and the tank if it has reasonable flow. :)
