PH is hovering at 7.99 - 8.03. Do I need to buffer before the rocks go in?

Subject says it all. The PH has been slowly rising for the last 2 weeks (.02 per week) so I haven't done anything. However now my 7.96ish has gone to 8.01ish and that seems a little low for the tank. Anyone have a suggestion?

my personal opinion is it is fine as it is, but i think i read richard saying once it need to be 8.something to qualify for their live guarantee. if the tank is empty, just add a little baking soda.
