pH Probe Calibration Question

Maybe a dumb question, but can I use 4 and 7 fluids to calibrate for my tank, or should I calibrate with 7 and 10? I appear to be out of the 10. :(

7 and 10 are "best" as that covers the range of our tanks but 4 and 7 should be good enough IMO..

It is fine. Set with the 7, then the 4 and then the 7 again to check. It will be as precise as you will care to get with the thing... if you are doing anything with the monitor except for maybe controlling CO2 to a CaRx, then you might want to rethink what you are doing... it should mostly just be for you own personal knowledge, right?

pH4 and pH7 combo is usually used for lower pH ranges such as those used with a calcium reactor. PH7 and pH10. If you want the best accuracy for the display tank then you will want to use the pH7/10 solution. While 4/7 will work, it won't be as accurate when you are monitoring/targeting ranges in excess of 8.0.

Yup it's just for knowledge pretty much, nothing is being controlled from this reading. That being said, I think I'm just going to pickup a couple 10's at the lfs so I can peace of mind about it. I'd prefer it to be as accurate as possible. Thanks for the responses.
