pH problem

Fellas,
Since i start 3 part with soda ash i am getting PH as high as 8.58
I did notice some based TN but, i dont think its from PH.

your thoughts?

BTW< i dose vinegar

Are you getting that number from a probe. Usually when you dose a carbon source it is hard to keep the ph up let alone that high. If it is a probe, I'd check the calibration. Also ph isn't as important as your dkh reading.

yes, this number from GHL prob. KH stable between 8-8.2

Soda ash can spike the pH a fair amount, although 8.58 is fairly high. How is the 3-part being dosed? Do you have a chart of the pH, or are you taking individual measurements?

3-part being dosed via profilux dosing pump through out the day. at night ph 8.25 and when Mh is on get as hight as 8.58
Mostly i dose ALK at night when Ph is down and during theday less

It seems you are dosing plenty at night maybe adjust the dosing so you dose less at night and more during the day

I probably would clean and calibrate the probe. I'm not convinced that the pH is getting quite that high, but it's possible. As long as the level is below 8.6, the tank should be fine. I agree, though, that your tank is getting to where I'd check the situation carefully.

I will start with calibration. hopefully , this prob needs to be calibrated..other then that i might switch from Soda ASH
