pH Question on an AC3

I purchased the AC3 about a month ago and calibrated the pH probe before I installed it. My pH has been on the low side of what I would consider normal (8.0x during the day, 7.8x @ night). I began dripping Kalk and it raised it up .1 I tested some water with a Salifert pH test kit and it showed a very distinctive 8.3 so I recalibrated the AC3, but it still showed 8.0x. I turned off the temp compensation(ATC) on the AC3 and the reading jumped up to 8.3. Well I turned on the ATC, but the reading didn't drop back down to 8. I'm just wondering if it's 8 or 8.3?

The last word I saw from Curt was to shut the ATC off. I was thinking that you needed to re-calibrate after changing the ATC setting. If it were me, I'd shut the ATC off and re-calibrate.
