In my 23ish gallon tank my PH is swinging from about 8.2 to 7.67 at night.
My main display down the hallway fluctuates from about 8.2 to 8.

That is weird. how different are the two tanks in inhabitants? Perhaps there is more algae in the smaller tank by volume than you realize?

I assume down the hall doesn't mean in separate "spaces" - closed doors and what not...what's the air quality in Vegas like? perhaps fresh isn't so there? IDK...

Check the calcium and alk in your other tank then match it. See if that works.
