PH vs Alk

OK I have been testing my tank almost every three days since purchasing my tank two months ago. I have had the same consistant problem with a low PH, but the Alk is up, not high but up.

Temp 78
Alk 4.5 meq/L
PH 7.8
Ammon 0
trites 0
trates 0

How do I raise my ph without raising my Alk? I have tried a ph booster, but that raises my Alk too much. Help

Take some tankwater, put it in a container, stick that container outside and run an airpump to it (airpump needs to be outside as well) run that for a few hours and recheck the PH. If this raises the PH, then problem is too much CO2 in the house, and you need better ventilation and fresh outside air getting to your tanks (open a window or somethign). If this doesn't fix the problem, then obvously something else is the matter. Chemistry forum would have better answers and threads to look through

What about reversing one of the fans in the top of my Aquapod to pull air into the tank. I always leave the feeding door open to get fresh air. Its too hot to leave the house open. I live in FL.
