phosban 150 reactor

I just hooked up a 150 to my sump and its connected to a MaxiJet 600. Its pretty choked down to get a slight tumble. Im also getting a pretty small trickle of water out of the output. Should i get a 400 instead of a 600? Should it have to be choked down this much? Fill me in.

Depends on how much media you have in there. I used to use a MJ1200. But now I just T'd it off of my main return and use a valve to adjust it.

you're fine. I wouldn't get another pump just for this. If you have a 400, you can switch them, but don't waste your money. Also, if you get another one, you can daisy-chain them and run carbon in the second one.

how much output do you get from the output hose with the 400? Im just getting a trickle from the 600 now but i guess as long as its tunbling a little that gives me more contact time

I am having green hair algae trouble and looking to add a Phosban 150 to my setup. What media are you using? Also where are you running your 150? I am limited to hanging one on the back of my tank. I already own a Maxijet 600 to use. Will the Maxijet 600 be OK?

You dont have to run it in a sump. It will hang on the back of your tank. Just put the maxi in your display tank. I did this before I had a sump and it worked perfect.

Are you all talking about the maxijet powerheads, or the maxijet submersible pumps? If powerheads, is it easy to hook a hose to them?

Thanks for the replies. I have Maxijet powerheads. I believe I can connect tubing from the output of the powerhead to feed the media reactor.
