Phosban calcium reactor

Has any one ever thought to make a mini calcium reactor from a two fishes 150 phosban reactor....I can't see it being hard but I'd imagine it would be a hell of alot cheaper then buying one.... Aspwcialy for a low consumption tank

Let me know if youve seen it done or have done it yourself

That's a good question. Unfortunately I know nothing about calcium reactors. Hopefully some will chime in. I'd like to see where this goes.
 
Most likely it is not worth the cost and effort. The phosban tubes are made from extruded acrylic which are brittle and break easily, and the lids aren't all that great either. Not saying it cant be done...it's just, for a calcium reactor, it's better to spend the money upfront and enjoy 5-10 years with no issues than mess around sinking money into something that will fail pretty quickly, and then having to replace it.
