thnx that answers my question:D
do you think it was a good investment?

They are great for keeping the phosphates down. Just don't drop your phosphates to quickly if they are very high. Could really shock your corals.

Here is mine
Let me know if that helps.

From watching the Video, Steve has the reactor adjusted just right. The top of the phosban should just boil a bit. Again if your phosphate is high to start with adjust it so that the flow is much less that that while you slowly lower the phophates.

Watch your PH if you just started it up.
When they first start up they draw out a ton of alkalinity, and that can cause your ph to crash down.

I started mine at a drip for a few days then a little more and more till it's what it's set at now.

Oh yeah they are very beneficial in my opinion. I've used the filter sock that came with the rowaphos at the outlet of the reactor to collect interesting brown residue. I've had to risne this sock out a few times now due to it clogging up literally, the water would have to flow out about two inches higher than my sump level due to sock clogging. Probably not a big deal but it was a new sight for me. I usually use filter pads and this was the first sock I used.

well not knowing about the ph consequences i left the ball vlave open all last night
after i read the reply about the ph i closed the valve just to where the water returning is just a trickle.
should i reopen the vlave just a little bit each day?

Ultimiate outlet goal would be to have the surface of the media be slightly rolling as if in a boil state - thus fluidizied. If it's bouncing around higher than an inch - too much flow. Again reference the video link above to see what it should look like.

Check your ph. If all is fine then open it up a bit more each day till it boils like stated above..

Check ph, is the biggest thing. If that's fine then you're ok

here are my results that got done tonight
amo.: 0
trite.: 0
trate.: 0
pH: 8.4
calcium: 660

Your calcium is very high. You want it at around 430-450ppm. Check your alkalinity. You want that at around 10 dKH or 3.5 Meq/L. With a Ca that high your alkalinity may be very low or your Ca test is really off. It actually seems unlikely that your alkalinity could be very far off if your pH is 8.4. How are you measuring your pH? Your numbers for Ca and pH just don’t seem to match. Are you using a pH buffer that has a lot of borate in it? In any case something is wrong, you would not be able to maintain a Ca of 660ppm if there is any where near the proper amount of carbonate in your water.
