Phosban-L Questions

I just purchased a bottle of Phosban-L. I have a 120 mixed reef with no SPS and can not get my PO below 0.5. I use Salifert test kits. I have a lot of rock and much of it is 20 plus years old. Also, the LFS I really trust, adds it directly to his tank without dilution; any follow this method? Any advice or thoughts?

Lanthanum chloride works by precipitating lanthanum phosphate from the water. I would remove the lanthanum phosphate by passing the water through a fine net, maybe 5-10 microns, but you might be safe enough dumping it directly into the tank. The issue is that the lanthanum phosphate might dissolve at times when some pH event or other parameter excursion occurs. Also, the powder seems to be able to cause problems for some fish, particularly tangs, although it's not clear what might be happening.

Thank you for your reply. My LFS is suggesting 1/4 ML at a time, as this is a liquid-Two Little Fishes-. I will employ filter socks and protein skimming.
