Phosban Reactor even if phosphates are zero?

I have a serious hair algae problem and was considering buying a phosban reactor and running GFO in it. Why does my Salifert test kit read zero phosphates though?

your algae is using up the PO4 faster than you can test for it. This is why I think PO4 test kits are not really good for much unless you have the colorimeter type.

if you have algae you have PO4, bottom line.

Well said.

So where are all these PO4 coming from? Overstocking, bulbs, over feeding, came in with live rock, bad water?

could be from either one of those, except the bulbs (they won't produce PO4, but if older bulbs can help with algae growth)

So is the Two Little Fishes PhosBan Reactor 150 a good choice running GFO? I have a 75 gal. tank
