Phosban reactor on the floor

I have a 24G Nano-Cube (No sump) that I am putting 2- twolittlefishies 150 reactors on. I have a Eheim 600 to power water through them.

I wanted to know, Since there is no room to put the reactors on the rear of my tank (Interferes with the hood) Can I put the two reactors on the floor, run water to them from the display and run the exit hose back up to the tank?

So, Eheim 600 pump in the tank(Pump has 4ft max head height)--> Tubing from pump to the inlet on the first reactor on the floor (3'10" drop)--> through reactors -->Hose from exit on 2nd reactor back up to the tank (3'10" back Up),

My concern is the back pressure from the head height would cause the reactor to not function properly OR cause pressure in the reactor that could cause reactor to leak.

Any ideas?

It might work, it might not. The flow rate through the reactor needs to be slow, and I think the force required to get the water back up to the tank could potentially be too strong and could even force the media to rise up and end up in the tank. Then again I could be mistaken, the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Either way as you are running them out of a sump make sure once you are happy with the setup you seal the piping good so you dont get any leaks. I used Adheseal with mine, it looks messy as hell but hasnt leaked yet :)

I ran 550a that way and it was fine. I used a quietone pump(i think it was the 2000).. I would think an eheim is easily up to the task(the pressure), as they are great pumps.. If in doubt, lol, I always "one up size" the pump, and then, just valve it down..
