Phosban Reactor questions...

Hey guys, Phosphates are high, bought a Phosban 150 Reactor and the media, how do you guys have yours running? I was planning on pulling water from the sump, and dumping it back into the sump. Also, what pump are you all using to power the reactor? Thanks for advice everyone!

I use a rio 90 powerhead on mine. They fit a 1/2" tube perfectly and it provides a stead stream of water. I have mine in my sump as well.

I've learned it's best to use a filter sock or similar for return water to the sump or the reactor gets gunked up easily.

Like the Penguin's there Fatdaddy.... thanks for the advice, I think that's exactly what I am going to do... just wanted someone else's opinion.

I have a 100GPH pump in my sump and the return from my reactor is run back into my sump near the pump.I run phosban and charcoal in mine at the same time

That's exactly what I'm going to do there Texas!!
I just brought some water into a LFS that I go to, and had them double-check my levals for me. Found out the phosphates were like around 200 or so, WAY high, (thus the Phosban) and the Alk was around 14 or so, and they said that was high also. Noticed that you run your tank at 14 too.... a big deal for you??? Is that an acceptable level and my lfs is just really anal, or is it to high?
