Phosban vs Seachem Phosguard

Hello,
I recently switched from phosguard to Phosban after reading all of the reviews. I have noticed a increase in Algae. Not out of control but certainly not as clean as before. Seems to me at least the phosguard was performing the task better. The level I read are still zero but not sure that really telling the story. Has anyone had a similar results and can confirm/deny that despite what you read phosguard is better than phosban as long as you change frequently

I have tried both and liked the phosban better. Even after I rinsed the phosguard as well as I could, it still clouded up my tank for a couple of days. GFO (phosban) should handle phosphates every bit as well as phosguard, but that is just my opinion, not fact....lol How are you running them, in a bag or in a reactor?

I have never used either one. I use Pura Phoslock. If you had better results with the first one, go back, don't be swayed by some reviews, although helpful, they should only be one source of information, experience trumps most reviews.

I just using bags placed in the return flow. I have read that Phosban needs really good flow to work and Phosguard can handle less flow. So my theory is that maybe despite phosban being a better product it not getting the flow. Once I get a good set of opinion I will decided if i should switch back

I think you will get great results from phosban if you put it in a fluidized (Phosban) reactor.

yes, I totally agree but not feasible at this point. This goes along with my theory that it not getting the proper flow and why in my situation Phosguard would be better
