phosphate absorbing pads anyone?

Anyone have any experiance with these? I was having issues with having the clean my glass off almost everyday or every other day. I wiped the glass down good Saturday then put some,of the padding in one of the chambers of my nano and since then the glass is still Crystal clear. Dunno if it's the padding or something else going on in the water. If it's the padding I'm extremely impressed

Not really great at removing phosphate except in a minor way. In a nano it MIGHT do some good, but if you want to solve the problem, get a GFO reactor---looks ugly as sin for a while, but it doesn't stay there forever. GFO in a bag works, but not nearly as efficiently as a reactor. The footprint, excluding pump and small hose, is about 4"x4", and it rises a foot vertical but ok if it's half out of the water.

IMO...

GFO is great for removing phosphate, but the real problem is why were they too high to begin with? Eventually your phosphate pad will no longer work and you will have to replace it. A better (and cheaper) alternative is to figure out why your phosphates were high to begin with. One of the most common culprits is not pre-rinsing frozen foods with RO/DI water.
