Phosphate Reduction

I put a reactor with Rowa Phos in my tank 10 days ago. My phosphates were very high .5. I did a large water change yesterday. My phosphates are still very high. It looks like no reduction. I am using a Red Sea test kit. The water coming out of the reactor is not much different than my tank.

Any ideas?

maybe slow the flow through the reactor so the water is in contact with the media for longer period of time.

It will take time. No quick fix for phosphate. If the source is inside your aquarium, It has to be addressed too. Water change, water change...

I would run Phosban in a sock for 4 days... then Phosguard in the reactor... changing it every month.....

I would also test your water source for PO4....

I would watch dropping your phosphate too quick you can have RTN and extreme stress. Alot of time phosphate is in the rock and substrate. This takes time to remove, just stick with the phosphate reactor, but do not put too much media in why not try a salifert test kit to compare or better yet a deltec. Oh yes the cure for all, a water change! 20% a week and I will guarantee your tank will be better, and how much food do you feed. I would also cut feeding to 2 to 3 times a week until things are under control.
