Any recommendation on the types of phosphate Reducing Media for media reactor. I am considering using one of the following:

1. Aquamaxx Phosphate Out
2. Rowaphos
3. Phosban
4. Phosguard

Any input appreciated. Thanks.

I used phosguard while cycling and although it worked quite well for getting rid of my diatoms, I've recently read that it shouldn't be used for reef tanks.

I can't give any advice on the other options you've listed. I purchased BRS low capacity GFO a couple days ago, waiting for delivery now. :)

Based on reviews on this RC, I went with Rowaphos, worked as advertised in reduction of it quickly. However, the claims that it will not leach back when saturated are in dispute. But, it works really well. I only used it in a MR-1 reactor.

I use Bulk Reef Supply HC GFO. It's denser than most others; little dust , doesn't grind up easily in a reactor and tolerates the regeneration process well.

I use PhosBan. Won't leach back. But gives no clue when it's spent. I recommend changing it monthly.
