Phosphate test kit.

I am wondering how i can increase the sensativity of my test kit? I would like to be able to detect levels lower than .25.

It can't be done. I checked into it and the only kits more sensitive are a higher grade Merck kit which is almost $100 and a Lamotte professional set which is about the same. You might talk to Brian as he is majoring in Marine Biology and could probably use UT equipment. Otherwise, your taxes pay for part of UT and to a certain extent if you ask nicely and seem really studious and interested usually someone will do this work for you if you call around, or let you use the lab. I have gone back on a few occsions to use the taxonomic keys and collections and all I had to do was ask the department head nicely and explain what I was doing.

Jason, the new phosphate test is available it goes from .01 to .25ppm. Do you want me to bring one home with me, they have 6 in stock.

7016.500. They're not cheap, cheaper than Merck and alot of other low range sets but they're $99.10. You can find them on the Interzoo Flyer link on the Tunze homepage. I will get some in next week.

How does this compare to, say, LaMotte's? I honestly don't know; I've really only used Salifert, but the resolution from 0.0 to 0.3 is really difficult for me to read, and of course it can make a big difference, so I'm looking for a new phosphate test kit.
