Ordering salt today and need some sea veggies .
Ocean Nutrition has Phosphorus & Ash
Julian Sprung does not.
I currently feed the Julian Sprung, but the other has garlic along with other things in their analysis that is higher .
Question: Does higher = better?

Question is it OK to add phosphorus & ash in the water ?
Reading a article that states:
Phosphorus is an essential element for life
Phosphorus would likely be of little concern to hobbyists if it was not for the fact that it might promote 'nuisance' algal growths, yet its presence is a double-edged sword since it is essential for maintenance of a healthy life.

i used the nori from Hmart for years and its super cheap.

phosphorus brakes down to phosphate and its in most fish foods. julians probably doesnt list it cuz they know some people freak out about adding phosphate to the tank cuz it will encourage algae growth.

You think the amount of phosphorus in fish food does a lot to contribute to algae growth? I ask because some time back I had a HA breakout in my system that almost had me leave the hobby. After over a year of battling I got it under control to where it was totally gone. Now after about a year of algae free I notice it slightly returning and I use Ocean Nutrition flake foods which shows phosphorus

i think all fish food have it because all fish food is made from organic material. What is important is getting that ballance between nutrients in and nutrients out. sometimes the nutrients creep up so slow on us and we dont realize only till the algae growth starts. stay on your water changes, dont over feed, make sure your tank is properly stocked, make sure your equipment is working like it should especialy your skimmer, RO filters, old light bulbs, no rusty equipment that leach iron and if all else fail, dose some carbon, a little goes a long way
