Photo Cell not working

Hi,

Yesterday I receieved tunze single controller, 6055 pump and a photo cell. I pluged every thing as instructed and the pump is working nice.The photo cell however is not working . I placed it near my 150W MH and when the light goesoff nothing happens.. it does not switch to power 2 . What should I do ?

Also, I know the single contoller can handle two pumps right ? but where to plug the second one ?

Hey,

I found what was the problem with the photo cell .Appeantly all what it needed was a little tough push into the controller and it start working nicely i glued the sensor at the tip bottom of my reef optic pendent .

Still Q 2 need an answer guys

can I place the contollers in my cabitnt where the sump is? its moist though?

Also, how can I reduce the humming noise . it seems to reasnoble but I thought there could be away to terminate it completely.

You can and many people do, but try to keep it as dry as possible. Mine is there but I have a remote sump in the basement. If your 6055 is vibrating/humming, I would check if you have the clear gel feet installed on the magnets. I run (3) 6055's and they are very quiet

the humming noise seems to increase when flow power is set to 30% and slowly disapear as i increase the power. you will notice it if you are close to the tank only.

This is normal, they make some noise and it will reduce after a couple weeks but you will be able to hear them when very close to the tank.
